Not a really good read. Just sort of ok. The story follows an Alpha bear shifter who has his best friend attend an important event as his pretend mate to prevent being mated to a stranger. This story had potential to be awesome. I liked the idea, the back drop, and I like the secondary characters of the bear pack.What was lacking was a good solid story line. The story started with them already half in love with each other. There was no conflict, buildup, or mystery there.
Secondly, the story felt rushed and incomplete. You literally jump from one scene to another with very little natural transition. Before you realize it the story is over, and you're left wondering what just happened.
The all important must attend event that the main character was stressing over was just blown off with literally no consequences. This story was just very disjointed, the main female character was an idiot, and the main conflict the story was building up to never happened.

One woman always with the wrong man, a male friend that is always with the wrong woman, add in parents trying to force a unwanted mating and her volunteering to be his mate and a meeting that might mean her death but ends up letting him know she is his mate and with all the goings on I believe any paranormal romance reader would enjoy this story.
Sometimes the best of lovers are hidden within the best of friends. This book is full of laughs, a few bear-ly there surprises (pun totally intended) and quite a few lines that had me LMAO! Danny and Sarah are the best of friends who become the best of lovers. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for laughter with a little romance hidden inside.
This is a captivating story,I enjoyed the characters. Jacqueline Sweet is favorite author. I really enjoy reading her books. Every book of you read will be delightful.
The story plot was okay. It was fun and there was a lot of good humor mixed in. There was a handful of mistakes in the grammar; misspellings, omitted words, etc., which being a "grammar Nazi" always makes me hiccup when I'm reading a story.
Part one and part two were about Danny and Sarah and their journey to being a pair. But the part three really should have been the start of another book. And that's all it was... a start! She goes and finds a man, takes him back to her camp, they have sex, the end! It just didn't really make any sense.
Danny got a very troubling phone call. He needed to go to a major Alphameeting and he is to bring his mate. His problem is, that he has been talking to Sarah about, he needs a mate. Sarah sad she would do it. They talked and talked so they would know the tiniestvdetails about each other.
They decided, so that it would "look better" they should have sex. Did they become mates? Did she become part of pack life? What happens to Good Boy?
I reviewed this this book using entirely my own opinion.
This is my first time reading anything by Jacqueline Sweet-the story just sounded fun and was only 0.99 so I got it. I knew it was number 5 but thought what the heck. I found it to be a good stand alone book. There were some typos and some inconsistencies but overall well worth the cost. The story was different, fun and full of energy. Did it leave me with questions? Yes...Was it to short?? I think yes...I wasn't even exactly sure when it ended...it went on to a preview of the next book pretty seamlessly. So I was a bit confused but overall satisfied. I say give this book a try and let me know what you think. Enjoy
This was my first time reading any books by Jacqueline Sweet and by no means the last. I was asked to read this book in hopes for an honest review, I was not given this copy because I had purchased it and boy was it worth it. The emotional roller coasters we all go through in the process of finding ourselves and our one true love. In this story Danny is the alpha of his bear clan and is due to get mated soon. He was given 10years to find his mate by his mother with the ultimatum that if he didn't find her he would marry would who she had. He is a amazing super sexy rich bear architect but no luck in the mate department..In a crazy attempt to stray takes his best friend Sarah as his fake mate. BUT what happens when in faking you find forever.....and how would you explain that to your best friend...
Sarah is a big beautiful woman who also is super smart and the business manager at the company with Danny . She is also who has had super bad luck in the guy department, they either use her or treat her bad..how was she to know that the man she was secretly in love with and who also was her bestie was meant for her and her alone. Yes she agreed to being his fake girlfriend but what she really wanted was him for real but someone wants trouble what will happen if they discover the truth? Is there a chance of winning for them? Read and find out....
